Youth Group

This week the junior high went apple picking, which sparked a lively discussion on Adam and Eve. The youth decided to save their apples to bake at a later date, so we’ll soon figure out who the lucky recipients of their baking will be! If you know someone who would appreciate a homemade baked goodie, let us know.

While the younger youth were celebrating the fall harvest, the senior high youth were saying good-bye to summer. Their devotion for the week centered around Ecclesiastes 3 - a time and purpose for everything under heaven, including the passing of the seasons. It was a beautiful day and at the top of the tower at Garrison Hill, the breeze reminded us of Ruach - God’s Spirit and life’s breath - ever present. We then celebrated summertime fun with a game of kickball and some lemonade and watermelon.

The good news is whatever the season, God has blessed us with a wonderful group of youth. They are so open to all God has in store for them, and at the same time, they are such a supportive group for one another. These qualities didn’t happen by accident. They are the result of being part of a loving and caring church, so for that, I praise God and thank all of you.

God bless you all for making St. John’s a church family!
