Youth Group
Happy Easter to all! I hope you all had a great day with your families last week, but remember that last Sunday was just the beginning of the Easter season. The story doesn’t end there. As some of us sang at Sunrise Service - “My Savior loves, My Savior lives, My Savior’s always there for me. My God He was, My God He is, My God He’s always gonna be.” Now that’s good news!!!
Dave and I got together this week and had a very productive time brainstorming ideas for the rest of the year. We’ll share some of those ideas with you this week because we have so many, we have to eliminate some! Hope you’ll be there to put your two cents in!
This week we’re going to have a game show night. We’ll be playing youth group versions of “The Newlywed Game” (how well do you know the other kids?), “Name that Tune” (how many words will your team need to recite certain Bible verses?) and “$25,000 Pyramid” (well, no cash prizes, but you’ll love our categories!). In between the games, we’ll play some more active games like Dodgeball and Human Bowling to give you a chance to expend some of that energy we leaders wish we had!
Next week, Alan and I will be away on Sunday, but Dave has planned a “Finish the Race” night for you that sounds great. We could use a few more parents to help out, so if you are available, please let one of the leaders know.
The following weekend is our karaoke night event - Saturday, April 12. If everyone makes one special dessert to bring for the buffet, we’ll be good. Tickets go on sale this week so start thinking about costumes - we’ll be dressing up as our favorite recording artists. Go solo or join with friends and come as your favorite band. We’ll have prizes for the best costumes, impressions, performances. Last year, the event was lots of fun and this year will be, too!
Looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces this weekend!
God Bless,
Brenda Borchers
