I wanted to make sure I didn’t forget anything, so I’ve got this all written down. I’m going to try and say it like it comes from the heart because it is from the heart. Because what I’m telling you today is my story.

The scripture readings for today highlighted several passages from both the Old and the New Testaments which referenced the Holy Spirit. Now many Christians think that the Holy Spirit is totally a New Testament Christian concept and especially that which came at Pentecost when the Spirit of the Lord came down upon all the people, and they all started speaking in strange languages.

But note: there are lots of Old Testament readings that address the issue of the Holy Spirit. And so, I’m going to share some of those with you.

Season of Lent begins on February 25th: Ash Wednesday begins the wilderness journey of Lent.
Lent is about “roughing it,” about letting go of what’s distracting us and getting back to basics, individually and corporately.
We will begin this journey gathered together for worship, at 7 PM on February 25th.

Reminder: Sunday February 22nd is “Just A Few Cents Make Sense” Sunday, so please remember your loose change. Your gifts are used by Outreach Ministry for St. John’s Mission Projects. Thank you for helping Outreach Ministries. We will be continuing this collection the 4th Sunday of each month.

Dover Food Pantry Sunday is February 15th.
