This passage of scripture is at the end of an interaction between Jesus and Nicodemus. Nicodemus, a Pharisee, comes to see Jesus in the middle of the night. Why was Nicodemus afraid or ashamed to be seen with Jesus in the light of day? To help us understand, Jesus references a story in Numbers 21 about Moses and the Israelites. The Israelites were complaining… big surprise, right? ….

Prayers for safe travel for Pastor Mark as he returns from the Katrina Mission in Louisiana, to be with his family as they go to Ellsworth ME for the funeral of his father, Henry, who passed away Saturday night. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Ellsworth United Methodist Church.
