New Music Director/Organist Sought
Due to the upcoming retirement of our Music Director, Barb Johnson, the Staff Parish Relations Committee has begun the process of advertising for a successor. The SPRC committee requests your prayers that we be guided to find just the right person to fill this very important position for our church family.
You may see a brief ad in Foster’s Daily Democrat over the next few days. More extensive ads (no cost to us) are being placed on Craig’s List and in UM publications. Anyone from within or outside the congregation who might be qualified is encouraged to apply for the position.
St. John’s United Methodist Church in Dover, NH, is currently accepting resumes for the position of Music Director/Organist. This is a part-time position with an annual salary of $18-20K. We are looking for an energetic, experienced professional willing to lead and grow the Music Ministry of this vital church. The Music Director will work closely with the Pastor to select anthems, hymns and praise/worship songs for regular and special church services.
Duties include, but are not limited to, directing 2 chancel choirs and musicians in a variety of musical genres, piano and organ accompaniment, overseeing bell and youth choirs, conducting regular rehearsals, recruiting and retention of choir members and musicians. Sensitivity to issues of diversity and inclusiveness and the ability to relate to people with a range of theological positions is essential.
