St. John’s UMC Church Conference

St. John’s UMC Church Conference Regarding Becoming a Reconciling Congregation

A special all Church Conference will be held February 5, 2012 at 11:00 in Hartford Hall. District Superintendent Mike Davis will preside. All members of St. John’s congregation are urged to attend this special session to decide if St. John’s will become a Reconciling Congregation, and to accept a Reconciling Statement that was presented to the Church Council in November by the Building Bridges Committee. That statement and the request for this special meeting were unanimously affirmed by those in attendance at that meeting.

The Reconciling Statement to be presented:

At St. John’s UMC in Dover, NH we affirm God’s redeeming love for all, and believe each person possesses sacred worth and dignity. We are one in Christ, celebrating our diversity, acknowledging our differing opinions, beliefs and Biblical interpretations. St. John’s, a reconciling congregation, welcomes all persons, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, race, age, ethnicity, physical or mental capacity, education, economic status, or marital status, to full participation in the life and ministries of this church.

There will be one church service at 9:30 on February 5. Snow date is February 12. Please plan to attend and participate in this important decision.
