“Casseroles Aren’t Enough: Helping Families in Crisis” slated for Wednesday evening
As a reminder, this Wednesday evening, January 11th at 7 PM, St. John’s Education Committee presents “Casseroles Aren’t Enough: Helping Families in Crisis”. The presenter, Carol Glover, author of Loving Hannah: Childhood Cancer Treatment from the Other Side of the Bed, will offer, along with readings from her book, ways that we as a church family can help one another and minister to our family and friends in times of crisis. In her program she looks at the stages families go through and their needs at different times.
Carol’s book will be available for purchase that evening at $15.95 each. Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to the purchaser’s choice of Maine Children’s Cancer Program, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or American Cancer Society.
Carol Glover has been a Nurse Practitioner for over 25 years. She received her BSN from Boston University and her MSN in Primary Care from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was a James M. Johnston Foundation Scholar. Her work has involved a wide range of nursing experiences in all areas of patient care from inpatient hospital nursing to community health, nursing education, administration and family practice medicine as an Advanced Practice Nurse. She has written and presented workshops in primary care, menopause and wellness.
In the event of bad weather, the event will be held on Wednesday, January 18 at the same time.
