Von Trapp Concert

Before the concert is over, she (Elisabeth Von Trapp) will have the crowd gasping with the sheer beauty of her voice.” –Boston Globe

Elisabeth Von Trapp, granddaughter of Maria and Baron Von Trapp, whose story inspired The Sound of Music” will sing at a concert at St. John’s Church on Saturday, September 8 at 7 pm. Mark your calendars now for this very special event. A free-will offering will be taken that night.

Singing professionally since childhood, Elizabeth has performed from European cathedrals to Washington DC’s Kennedy Center, as well as the White House and the National Cathedral. Her program will include sacred and secular music from Bach to Broadway favorites, early American hymns, spirituals, some original compositions and a song or two from The Sound of Music.

The past few years she has chosen to share her talents with Methodist churches for no fee, other than a portion of the free-will offering. She has found that these hundreds of concerts have “brought (her) face to face with some of the most vibrant and generous people (she) has ever had the pleasure to

meet, true laborers working in God’s field, people of faith that believe that now is the season to offer hope and encouragement to those in need. These visits opened (her) eyes to the heartbeat and soul of the United Methodist Church.
