Hospitality
The Hospitality Committee at St. John’s United Methodist Church strives to be a welcoming community to all who come to experience the family of God at this gathering place. We endeavor to provide regular times of fellowship and refreshments as people gather between our scheduled worship services on Sunday mornings. Once a month we put on a public dinner open to the community providing a nutritious and affordable meal. Receptions are provided for new church members as well as after special services, such as Teacher Appreciation, Harvest and Holly Fair, concerts or other special events. Funeral receptions are provided as needed.
This committee works in conjunction with the Board of Trustees and Finance regarding budget items, as necessary, and for the use and upkeep of the kitchen facilities. Maintaining the kitchen and food supplies falls under the auspices of the Hospitality Committee whose members keep within the stewardship guidelines of the church regarding recycling, earth-friendly materials, the use of fair trade supplies, etc.
