The
Voice Of Miracles Healing And
Soul Winning Ministries is a wild name for a church, but this
little
church in Lusaka, Zambia lists the following as it’s priority goals and
mission:
- To mobilize funds for the erection of the church building
and other infrastructures within the Church premises.
- To continue mobilizing and integrating people living with
HIV/AIDS into the church for the purpose of helping them live
positively by involving them in sustainable programs.
- To conduct feeding programs for the poor in the society,
especially the orphaned children, street kids, and elderly.
- To conduct Evangelism Campaigns such as Revival Meetings
and Open Air Crusades around the country.
Doing this work in a poor country is challenging. The
congregation currently meets in borrowed space that can hold 70 people
if they cram them in. They now have 80-100 people in attendance
and the overflow worships from the outside, looking in the
windows. The rainy season is coming.
Zambia has a national unemployment rate of 50%. In this
congregation, 3 people have employment. The pastor receives no
salary. From his other job as a driver for a research facility,
the pastor and his wife feed the entire congregation dinner every
Sunday, since so many have no food. The people who come are eager
for God’s word. Only two are able to own Bibles, which they share
with the others.
